| The final numbers of transplants reported were 6,840 in
the child transplant survey (including adult transplant cases conducted
at pediatrics departments) and 12,374 in the adult transplant survey (including
child transplant cases conducted at internal medicine departments and
allo-PBSCT cases reported by "Short-term Registration Form for the
Recipient"), in total 19,214. The reported transplants increased
by 2,205 when compared with 17,009 transplants in 2001 survey. Since 1993,
3,816 allogeneic unrelated BMTs have been conducted through JMDP. Table
1 shows the sum of the unrelated JMDP transplants and the JSHCT-reported
transplants excluding unrelated allo-BMT in and after 1993. |
